ABVentures is the University of Aberdeen’s FREE entrepreneurship advice and support service.
We focus on helping our current students and recent graduates (within the last two years) develop entrepreneurial skills and/or launch a business or social enterprise.
We provide:
- Events and activities that involve real-world problems designed to help our students develop creativity and problem-solving skills
- Expert advice and guidance to bring our students’ business ideas to life.
Start your journey with us! We are your first point of contact to everything freelancing, starting a side hustle, launching a tech start-up or social enterprise, access funding, support you through start-up competitions and ensure you are in contact with the right people and organisations.

As one of the 75 Santander Universities, the University of Aberdeen receives funding from Santander to support Education, Employability and Enterprise activities. The funding provided for Enterprise support our student/graduate businesses and is awarded through our ABVentures Microfinance Fund.

Codebase, the UK’s largest Technology Incubator, helps people build better tech start-ups and scaleups by providing space, community and education programmes designed to make it easier to start and scale their business.
